Graphical Hardware Editor

Detail-true simulation of the actual hardware

The LASAL automation software from SIGMATEK provides a new perspective to the hardware: the graphic hardware editor. With this function, users can design their project graphically and run possible variations true to reality. The hardware layout of an existing control configuration can be read via mouse click, developed and configured in the graphic editor. In addition to the functionality of the standard hardware editor, the graphic editor has new practical features.

From a hardware editor catalog, all available products can be added to the workspace – user-friendly via Drag & Drop. As in reality, the components can be strung together and connected. Disallowed connections are indicated by a tool tip or with a changed mouse pointer. To make rear connections visible, the products can be rotated. Interactive interfaces allow direct adding of a new hardware element - even without product catalog.

In online mode, the user can see the realistic behavior of the components in the LASAL project. In the detailed view, product information as well as possible slots and bus connections are thereby visible. In this "Detail View" the actual values and component properties can be read or configured and changed. The software application can also be compared with the control configuration. Differences are graphically displayed and the option to selectively include these components in the project is available.

With the modern software suite LASAL, applications can be designed using object-oriented programming (in accordance with the IEC 61131-3 standard). All automation tasks such as process control, visualization, motion control, Safety, diagnostics and service are seamlessly unified in one engineering platform.
