AGUMOS Q40: The Agile Eurobox Transporter

40 x 40 x 40 cm – these are the compact dimensions of the driverless transport system AGUMOS Q40 from Melkus Mechatronic. The "transport cube" was designed for the automated transport of small parts in Euroboxes, with SIGMATEK providing the automation solution of the versatile hall-flitter: visualization, control electronics, Safety and drive technology – unified on one software platform. At the SPS IPC Drives, we will show you the AGUMOS Q40 in action.

The smart transport cube, with a capacity of up to 60 kg, provides efficiency in material flow – whether in production, assembly or logistics. Quickly operation-ready, the AGUMOS Q40 can automatically adjust the height of the load carrier to provide high ergonomics and simple adaptation to the existing infrastructure. With its compact form, the AGUMOS Q40 also makes its way through narrow production corridors and storage rows. The integrated laser scanner ensures that people and other unexpected obstacles are detected and the driverless transport system comes to safe stop, then automatically continues its work.

In addition to an optical lane guide with tape or bar code markings, the Eurobox transporter can also move freely (Teach-in). Communication with the mobile operating device is established via radio frequency and with the guidance system, via WLAN. Here, transport jobs can be flexibly managed and AGUMOS-fleets coordinated. Suited for Industry 4.0 and IoT, the "cube" ensures that the right materials are provided at the right place at the right time.
