SIGMATEK says: Hello Korea!

Automation expert's new branch office

"Annyeonghaseyo" means hello in Korean. The Austrian manufacturer of complete automation systems, SIGMATEK, has now opened a branch office in South Korea – in the 10-million inhabitant metropolis of Seoul.

The manager of SIGMATEK Automation Korea is Francisco Jung, a sales and automation professional with more than 25 years of industry experience. "Many OEM manufactures in Korea want an automation partner, who provides a complete system solution of hard and software, and supports them in the engineering. And SIGMATEK offers its customers exactly such complete solutions, as well as machine know-how and customer orientation. The design of new machines is thereby accelerated enormously.”

Jung and his team have their sights especially on the packaging, plastics, robotics and handling industries and focus on perfect customer service as well as support. For Francisco Jung, the cooperation with local system integrators such as Servostar as a partner for robotics and handling systems, is an important success factor. Gi-Jin Lee, President of Servostar, is convinced that the SIGMATEK system is the ideal solution for various OEM markets and "the object-oriented, simple to operate engineering tool LASAL is with extensive libraries as well as function and motion templates, a big plus for our customers."

After China, Korea is the second location in the far east for the Salzburg systems provider. SIGMATEK Head of Global Sales, Alexander Melkus , sees great potential for the new subsidiary: "South Korea is a modern industrial state with one of the most significant national economies worldwide. Especially in the high-tech sector, there are many machine builders that have a high demand for innovation and quality. For SIGMATEK, this opens interesting business opportunities – also for further markets in Asia."
