Flexible Safety

Modular - open - with cable or wireless

With the compact S-DIAS system, you can implement space-saving Safety solutions flexibly and economically - whether connected via cable or wireless. The thin Safety solution consists of a standard CPU (e.g. CP 102) combined with a Safety controller (SCP 111) and safe I/Os.

With the TÜV-certified S-DIAS Safety system, Safety requirements up to SIL 3 (in accordance with EN 62061) and PL e, Cat. 4 (in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 /-2) can be met. The modular Safety solution can be fully integrated, but also implemented as a stand-alone control. Your existing machines and equipment can therefore be gradually equipped with Safety functions.

Safety data transfer: also wireless

Safety data is transferred according to the Black Channel principle – connected via cable over  VARAN, Ethernet TCP/IP or wireless. For wireless transmission, conventional WLAN access points can be used. An example of a wireless Safety solution is the wireless Safety operating panel HGW 1033 or automated guided vehicle systems. In such a system with mobile Safety-relevant units, the Safety Manager can also be implemented with an S-DIAS Safety system.

The thin and stable S-DIAS Safety system (SIL 3, PL e) can also be integrated into wireless applications such as automated guided vehicle or wireless operating solutions.

Seamlessly Integrate Safety

Using the LASAL SAFETYDesigner, you can quickly and comfortably program or configure your Safety applications. The graphic, clear representation and an extensive library with predefined function blocks reduce your overhead considerably. Safety-oriented processes such as “emergency stop” or “operation mode select switch” can be easily placed and wired in the network.

Safety Hot-Swap: Change machine network during active operation

With the Hot-Swap feature, you have even more flexibility when implementing your Safety concept.  Machine components with their own S-DIAS Safety CPUs can be flexibly integrated into the system, logged out and logged back into the machine network at a different location – and that during runtime.

The overall Safety program is created with all possible participating units in the machine network and can then be combined as desired. Up to 70 optional sub-stations with emergency stop function can be managed with the primary central Safety control.

With the Hot-Swap feature for the S-DIAS Safety system, modular machines and system units with emergency stop function can be flexibly grouped or modified.

Without hardware switch: Safety Plug&Play

The connection is dynamically created using a simple function-oriented login mechanism – without switching hardware. The disconnection is triggered by a safe input. The Plug&Play function saves the user valuable time in the production process and increases the output at the same time. If a unit is separated from the central Safety control without first logging out, an emergency stop is triggered in all connected machine modules after the configurable Watchdog time has elapsed.
