Highest Power Density

Up to three axes, a supply, power filter, brake resistor and DC-Link circuit are combined in one 75 x 240 x 219 mm housing - with a rating of 4 kW. With an identical height and depth, sizes 2 and 3 only vary in width by 75 mm each and provide an output of 8 kW or 150 mm in size 2 and of 18 kW on 225 mm in size 3.

Flexible Multi-Axis Servo System

The combined supply and axis modules from the MDP 2000 series for up to three axes can be used alone as compact drives or expanded to a multi-axis network with different MDD 2000 axis modules of both sizes.

Clever Connection Mechanics

The multi-axis network can be toollessly expanded with DCB “DC Connection Block” and BCB “Bus Connection Block”. This eliminates costly individual wiring for power, DC-Link coupling and real-time Ethernet communication with VARAN bus.

More Safety Integrated

In the DIAS Drives MDD 2000, numerous Safety functions are integrated - up to SIL 3, PL e, Cat. 4 and TÜV certified. Stop functions (STO, SS1, SS2, SOS), Safe Brake Control (SBC) and Safely Limited Speed (SLS) as well as further safe speed, acceleration, position and rotation direction functions.

Less Wiring

The MDD 2000 series uses the Hiperface DSL digital motor feedback interface as standard. The single-cable solution for line and feedback signals eliminates the encoder line and minimizes wiring.

DIAS-Drive MDD 2000 with even more Safety

The DIAS-Drive 2000 series has safe speed, acceleration, position and rotating direction functions as standard – up to SIL 3, PL e, Cat. 4 and TÜV-certified.

DIAS-Drives – Hot Facts

The latest servo drive systems are an integral part of the modular SIGMATEK automation platform. Like all our automation components, they are designed for maximum space efficiency, enabling compact control cabinet layouts for machines and systems.

High servo performance - shprtest controller times

Thanks to minimal controller times of only 62.5 µs, the different series have excellent servo performance. Exact positioning at high speeds is thereby guaranteed.

Flexible and economic

The tasks of the servo drives were consciously limited to current, speed and position control to avoid unnecessary overhead and achieve an attractive price/performance ratio. All parameter and configuration data of the drives are stored centrally in the control unit. Redundant functions and expensive electronics in the drive are thereby eliminated. Handling during the initial start-up is thereby simplified; as well as service, since exchanging the drives is uncomplicated.

Communication in real time with VARAN

Over VARAN, the drive technology is quickly integrated into the automation system. Particularly for fast machines with several drives, the Ethernet bus VARAN is ideal. All accesses are synchronized in hard real-time (synchronicity inaccuracy less than 100 ns).

The high data transfer rate and broad bandwidth of the real-time Ethernet communication enable the control of multiple drives in the shortest time. For data exchange between the control and drive, VARAN needs only 5.05 µs.

Integrated Safety

All servo drive systems have Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Stop 1 (SS1) – in compliance with SIL 3 according to EN/IEC 62061 and PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1/-2. The DIAS Drives 2000 offer even more Safety, with Safe Brake Control (SBC), Safe Operating Stop (SOS) and Safely Limited Speed (SLS). The drive technology can be easily integrated into the Safety concept of your machine.

Variety in motors and feedback systems

The modern DIAS-Drives 2000 are designed to control servomotors using a single-cable solution. In addition to servomotors, the DIAS-Drives 100 and 300 also control linear, torque, and asynchronous motors. Resolver, Sin/Cos, EnDat®, and Hiperface®/Hiperface DSL® can be used as feedback systems.

Simple drive engineering

The initial start-up or parameterizing software for the DIAS Drives is completely integrated into LASAL. The LASAL MOTION package provides a large library with predefined motion control and technology modules, which range from positioning to the coupling of multiple axes within a space. Efficient tools such as real-time Data Analyzer, real-time trend recording, CAM Designer and Motion Diagnostic View simplify engineering considerably.

DIAS Drive MDD 2000 – Hot Facts

Highest power density, modularity and compactness speak for using the DIAS Drive MDD 2000 series in highly dynamic motion applications. The modules always have, with varying width (75/150/225 mm), the same height and depth: 240 x 219 mm (H x D). The combined supply and axis modules in various performance classes or sizes can be combined as desired – for custom-fit drive concepts.
